Endeavor House Ministries is a residential, Christ-centered transitional housing program designed to help men and women in recovery from alcohol and risky substance use. The ministry has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as having a 501(c)(3) status, so donations support the ministry as well as providing tax benefits.
There are two residential facilities focusing on the love of Christ and His forgiveness to help people work through life-controlling addictive compulsive disorders. The ministry is a one-year recovery program focused on the “Eight Recovery Principles” of Celebrate Recovery, the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Word of God. Residents are encouraged to apply these principles in their daily lives and in using these tools, residents rebuild their personal and community relationships.
All residents are required to participate in the following programs and policies on a daily/weekly basis.
At the Men’s House at end of 2021, the overall cost per man was $702.00 per month. These costs include housing, meals, laundry, transportation, maintenance, and all other programming expenses. We expect that when the women’s house is in operation the per person cost will be higher. These estimates are before calculating the effect of this years’ inflation.
In ministries like ours, staffing is typically the greatest of all expenses. Due to a powerful base of enthusiastic volunteers and a staff of four who work for minimal salaries, these expenses have been a smaller percentage of the annual budget. As we expand, the need for additional staffing will increase. The expense of more staff at higher salaries will be forthcoming. Your gifts, especially those that arrive on a regular basis are of tremendous value, not only in paying the bills, but in planning for the future.
I have been in pastoral ministry for 40 years and with Endeavor House since its beginning in 2006. My passion is to see people reach there full human potential in Jesus Christ. A favorite quote: "Your behavior will tell you the truth about yourself". -Leon Murph
Working with our staff and board we teach that the Bible and AA's Big Book actually speak the same recovery message, each in its own language. At Endeavor House, in the church, at 12 step meetings, Celebrate Recovery, Steps to Freedom and other resources WILL work together as tools of the carpenter to help build the new man
(and now, woman)!
Having worked within the Recovery Community for years, and served on Boards- Unite to Face Addiction, Project VOX- and National Council on Alcoholism, Mid Michigan Recovery Services, and RISE Recovery Community, I understand that it takes a united community to serve those who are struggling. I joined Endeavor House Ministries in November of 2021 and whole-heartedly believe in the mission were involved in.
